Police Station Project Presented to Bourne Selectmen
September 6, 2016
The Police Facility Building Committee introduced the preliminary plan for the new Bourne Police Station to the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday, August 23, 2016. Building Committee Chairman Charles Noyes presented a PowerPoint report to attendees highlighting the history of the Bourne Police Station, the work of the Bourne Police Facility Building Committee to date, and a preliminary plan and design. The preferred design is a 25,000 square foot facility located on the site off Armory and the Bypass Roads. The building is two-stories with a basement and includes a training room, an 5-lane firing range, compliant detention cells, and a fitness room.
The next steps include public forums to discuss the proposed project. Tours of the existing police station at 175 Main Street in Buzzards Bay are already being scheduled. Stay tuned to this website for more project updates.
